Get a Map

Before you hit the track make sure you have a map. The Goldfields Track Committee has worked hard to install a lot of signage to make the track safe and easy to follow but that doesn’t mean you don’t need a proper, detailed map.

Maps are available in hard copy or downloadable files for your GPS device.  If want to access the routes follow just the links on this website.  There is a file for each of the three track sections, with versions for riding or walking.

Simply visit the relevant page, click on the icon on the left hand side of the map to show your preferred mode of transport – bike or walk – Eureka Track, Wallaby Track, Dry Diggings Track, and Leanganook Track – and download as appropriate.

You need to get a Guidebook

But while the downloadable maps are great, to ensure you are on track, and to fully experience the area, seriously consider purchasing a printed map or Guidebook.  You can do research before you head off by purchasing a copy of the Goldfields Track Guidebook (2nd edition).

The Guide does more than just show you the way, it includes informative essays and information on the area’s flora, fauna, cultural and natural history to be discovered along the track.  It is highly recommended for anyone exploring the Goldfields Track.

The cost is only $29.99 (inc P&H) – what a bargain, for this comprehensive guide book. Send an email with your name, address and any other questions you might have. Payment is via EFT, so we’ll be in touch with bank details and to confirm postage so you can start planning your visit.

Mountain bikers looking to purchase maps should note, the Goldfields Track Guidebook provides all you need to know; shared track, walking only, and riding only sections and any bike diversions along the track.  The individual maps available from the Guide Dividing Trail Association (GDTA), for each section of the track ONLY show the walking route.

Click here to visit the GDTA’s online shop for the walker’s only individual maps. Or pop into one of the Visitor Information Centres in the towns along the way and purchase what you need.
