Goldfields Track – Safety Update

Due to recent fires, parts of the Goldfields Track around Harcourt and Liyanganuk/Leanganook  have been impacted and are not safe to access at this time.

The Goldfields Track Committee is asking everyone to:

  • Please do not travel south of Bendigo on the Track
  • Stay south of the Golden Point Reservoir, Castlemaine
  • Avoid all fire-affected areas and parks

🚫 Mount Alexander Regional Park is currently closed

We know how much people love getting out on the Track, but these closures are about keeping everyone safe — including walkers, riders, emergency crews, and park staff.

Thank you for your patience and for helping protect both people and this special landscape. We’ll share updates as soon as it’s safe to return.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People are the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and waters over which the Goldfields Track passes. The Goldfields Track Committee pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
