Walk the Goldfields

Love to walk? The Goldfields Track is an adventure through nature and time!

The Goldfields Track travels through Dja Dja Wurrung and Wadawurrung Country, overlaid with the rich heritage of nineteenth-century gold mining—capturing both the triumphs and challenges of the past. It is Victoria’s longest shared track. Walking from Mount Buninyong to Bendigo is a fantastic way to take in the changes across the landscape and to stop and see the many points of history and culture along the way. There are very few places in Australia – or the world – that can offer such an experience, so close to towns and transport, and yet feel like it is so far from anywhere.

Try the Goldfields Track in one multi-day journey (roughly eight or nine days) or walk it in sections:
Leanganook Track – Bendigo to Castlemaine 61km
Dry Diggings Track – Castlemaine to Daylesford 58km
Wallaby Track – Daylesford to Creswick 52km
Eureka Track – Creswick to Mount Buninyong 44km

The Goldfields Track has something for everyone!
