Welcome to Nerrina and the Goldfields Track

Wadawurrung People welcome you to Nerrina which is on Dja, the traditional lands and waterways of
Wadawurrung People, who have been a part of this cultural landscape for countless generations.

For thousands of years, Wadawurrung have followed ancient tracks, waterways and songlines through this landscape. People move around Dja depending on the seasons, the availability of the resources, and the needs of the day. As people travel, culture and commodities move with them. Important items such as
food, tools, ochre and medicines have always moved along these tracks; invaluable commodities in a time before money. As clans met, the stories of the Elders were passed on, and ceremony was practiced, keeping Culture alive.
