Goldfields Track closures as of September 2026

The following sections of the Goldfields Track are currently closed and require a detour:

All walking tracks in Leanganook (Mount Alexander Regional Park) are closed until advised due to the fires in January 2026. The campground is open. For a walking detour, please use the bike route of the Goldfields Track, which runs around the base of the Mountain and can be found on our website here.

North of Hepburn Springs: the Blowhole to Hepburn-Newstead Road, and Hepburn- Newstead Road to Golden Spring. Please visit the Parks Victoria website here for more information.

The Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People are the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and waters over which the Goldfields Track passes. The Goldfields Track Committee pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
