The following sections of the Goldfields Track are currently closed and require a detour:
- All walking tracks in Leanganook (Mount Alexander Regional Park) are closed until advised due to the fires in January 2026. The campground is open. For a walking detour, please use the bike route of the Goldfields Track, which runs around the base of the Mountain and can be found on our website here.
- North of Hepburn Springs: the Blowhole to Hepburn-Newstead Road, and Hepburn- Newstead Road to Golden Spring. Please visit the Parks Victoria website here for more information.
Along the Coliban Water Channel, there are works underway to clear a blockage in Wirths Tunnel near Youngs Lane in Harcourt North between May and September. This blockage was caused by debris from the Harcourt bushfires being washed into the Coliban Main Channel.
If you use the Leanganook Track near Youngs Lane in north Harcourt you may notice an increase in vehicles and machinery near the site. The track will remain open during works. Please take care to follow any signage or instruction when vehicles are in the area.
